Our Mission, Vision and Approach
How Discere Vivere supports self-awareness, resilience, empathy, essential life skills, and mental wellbeing across the Košice Region.
Discere Vivere is a Slovak non-profit established by experts in psychology and social work. We guide people toward a deeper connection with themselves, helping them live with greater mindfulness, self-acceptance, and satisfaction.
Our vision
We envision a society in which people live with self-awareness, resilience, and empathy. By creating environments that encourage self-discovery and emotional intelligence, we work toward a future in which mental wellbeing is a shared social priority.
Our four pillars
Promoting mindfulness, self-awareness, self-understanding, and self-acceptance
Developing essential life skills, including financial literacy, critical thinking, personal development, and self-management
Preventing bullying, substance abuse, behavioural disorders, and other harmful social phenomena through direct and peer-led work
Strengthening the skills of educators, psychologists, social workers, and parents through training and practical resources
Who we work with
Our work serves children and young people, professionals in psychology, social work and education, and parents. We collaborate with primary and secondary schools, Counselling and Prevention Centres, low-threshold centres, school psychologists, consultants, teachers, and social workers in the Košice Region.
Our approach
Experiential learning sits at the heart of our work. Hands-on activities and socio-psychological training help participants navigate complex social situations, strengthen interpersonal relationships and self-esteem, set personal goals, and take an active role in community life.
